Franchise brands make it into FM’s Top 20

The Financial Mail has published its Top 100 companies survey, and two franchise brands make it into the top 20…

Famous Brands topped the list, while Spur Corp came in at number 19. The annual competition showcases South Africa’s best companies. Winners were congratulated for achieving “true high performance in their sectors and in the broader South African marketplace, despite challenging economic times,” and praised for their “inspiring leadership”.

In its review of Famous Brand, FM said: “Famous Brands is a worthy winner of the FM’s Top Companies Award,” adding, “If ever there was an iconic South African company, it is Famous Brands.”

FM noted: “Famous Brands stands in competition with the best fast food franchises in the world, which compete against it in SA – and which have not managed to defeat it.”
